Steam rising from a small saucepan of ginger, cardamom and cinnamon carries the intensely floral fragrance of Place des Épices’ organic cloves, their full, handsome heads the mark of a perfect clove, into a cup of milky spiced tea.
Serves 2 · 15 min
- Simmer 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) water with 4 cloves, 2 crushed cardamom pods, a small cinnamon stick and 3 slices of fresh ginger for 5 minutes.
- Take off the heat, let cool for 1 minute, add 2 black tea bags and steep for 4 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags, add 1 cup (240 ml) milk and 2 tsp sugar, and warm gently without boiling.
- Strain into two cups and serve hot.
