Berries bursting in warm honey, cold vanilla ice cream underneath and a finish that glows: Sauce Martin’s Blizzard hot sauce, made mostly of blueberries and blackberries with fruity habanero, turns dessert into winter with a fire at the end.

Serves 4 · 10 min

  1. Warm 1 1/2 cups (225 g) of blueberries and blackberries with 2 tbsp of honey in a small saucepan for 3 to 4 minutes, until they begin to burst.
  2. Off the heat, stir in 1/2 tsp of Blizzard hot sauce, then taste and add a few more drops if you like.
  3. Scoop vanilla ice cream into 4 bowls.
  4. Spoon the warm berries over the ice cream and finish with crushed shortbread cookies.
