Cardboard display box, calissons individually wrapped
Origin
Provence, France

Copper cauldrons, a slow cooking, and all the patience of Provence: Arnaud Soubeyran, one of the region’s most respected confectioners, glazes and slow-cooks candied fruits and almonds into the emblematic Provençal calisson. This Calissons Display Box holds twenty of them, each individually wrapped. Smooth and delicately fruity, they reveal the mellow sweetness of almond beneath a fine icing. Set the box on a counter as an elegant display or offer it as a generous gift, then pass the calissons around with coffee at the end of a meal.

The Maker
Almonds, honey, and time: the recipe is old, and it has never needed to hurry. Founded in 1837 in Montélimar, the birthplace of Nougat de Montélimar, Arnaud Soubeyran is a historic French confectionery house, recognized as one of the oldest nougat makers in France. For nearly two centuries, the house has kept its nougat-making expertise alive through traditional recipes and quality ingredients, honey and almonds first among them. Its nougats are still made by traditional methods, including slow cooking in copper kettles. The range spans soft nougat, hard nougat, gourmet sweets, and confections rooted in French culinary heritage.
