Grand Goût Russe Tea N°499 is a bold, contemporary reinterpretation of the great Russian-style tea tradition from Dammann Frères, one of France’s oldest tea houses, founded in 1692: black tea with bergamot peel and flower petals, combining the powerful fragrance of Calabrian bergamot with the fresh, bright character of finger lime. Intense, citrusy, and distinctive, it makes a lively cup from morning to afternoon. Available in a 100g canister or in 24 individually enveloped tea bags; pour it with lemon madeleines, or iced with a thin slice of lime.

A bright morning cup alongside buttered toast and orange marmalade. With lemon madeleines, a citrus tart or a slice of pound cake. Served with smoked salmon blinis or cucumber sandwiches at afternoon tea. Equally refreshing iced, with a thin slice of lime.

Recipe idea

Bergamot and Lime Tea Sparkler

Serves 4 · 10 min + 1 h chilling

Brew 3 tea bags or 6 g of loose Grand Goût Russe tea in 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) of water at 194°F (90°C) for 4 minutes, then remove the bags or strain.
Stir in 3 tbsp of honey and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Divide among 4 glasses filled with ice and top each with 1/2 cup (120 ml) of chilled sparkling water.
Garnish with a thin slice of lime and a sprig of mint.
